The hotel is showing its age. Don't plan on breakfast before 7:00. The only access to coffee was one decaf Pod on my room. When I asked about it, they told me that the only coffee provided was the Pod in the room. Not the place to stay if you are a light sleeper as trucks are constantly engine breaking coming down the hill while the trains are blaring their horns.
The Clarion Hotel in Somerset is a unique experience in spending a night or more away from home. The kindness and respect from the staff is consistent in our many visits. They attend to any issues of concern quickly. The new restaurant attached to the hotel brings a sparkle to a dinning option without ever stepping outside. The Clarion, and it's ownership, are one of the most community minded hotels I have ever found. They play host to a variety of events that benefit the general public in the area.
Don’t like the hotel at all ... we are going there only because of indoor swimming training...but the feel of the hotel is not good.. but the swimming trainer Mr. Eric is very good trainer.. he is Fantastic with the special kids also...
The hotel is great. The rooms have everything you need: a microwave, mini fridge, iron, good wifi, etc. Will come again!
Had the worst experience with the Receptionist named Nabil. What to talk about customer service abilities, the guy did not have the normal decency to talk to talk to any one. I was visiting from Canada with my family and were the guest of our relative who had booked the rooms at this hotel. Afer driving for the whole day we reached a bit early then out host who were coming from North Carolina We showed the receptionist the snapshot of the reservation and asked him if he could check us in to which he flatly refused in a very disgusting tone. We called our host who then talked to Nabil on the phone , we could hear his conversation and Nabil was very rude to our host too. Finally they agreed that I will give him my personal ID and a credit card and he will check us in against my credit card. I gave him my drivers and my credit card and he got the paper work signed from me. But again very rudely he pointed out that the rooms are booked for 1 Adult only and you are more people and threatened me that he can cancel the booking if he feels like. I told him that he should not argue with and give me drivers licence and credit card back and we will wait from our host to arrive and then he can sort the booking issue with him. The receptionist refused to give me my drivers licence and credit card back and started yelling at me. Seeing this my kids came and a heated argument started and Nabil came out of the front desk and almost attacked my daughter. We had to call the police on him who came and got me my drivers licence and credit card from him, and warned the receptionist on his behavior and asked us not to came back to this hotel till the time this guy is around as it might not be good for us. We had to cancel the booking and past midnight we had to find a different hotel to stay. Please be very careful while booking in this hotel specially when this guy Nabil. I am not sure the management can ever put such a person at the front desk. I will try to get in touch with the senior management of this hotel and ask them to remove this guy from the front desk as he will keep bringing a bad name to this hotel.
